On the hill known as the 'Grosser Humberg' (Great Humberg), the Humberg Association built a stone observation tower almost 36 metres (119 feet) high, from 1898 to 1900. 163 steps lead up to the great view at a height of around 1500 feet above sea level.
The Humberg Tower was built according to plans by the
architect Ludwig Ritter von Stempel.
At an airy height, you have a magnificent view over the
Palatinate Forest, the North Palatinate Hill Country, and the
hills of the Donnersberg and the Potzberg.
